Thank God, this is almost over. I can breathe easier knowing Liam and MAGS are safe. As we travel in our little bubble of hope, we have limited time to figure out what’s going on and who is chasing us, but the end of this is near. Liam and I need to work with MAGS to find out what’s going on.

The man I’ve been in love with ever since I can remember has rescued my brother, and he’s driving us to safety. Our story will have a happy ending, but I still need to keep us from Liam a bit longer.

Cam’s team took a tremendous risk breaking Liam out and setting him free. There is a good possibility they will be brought up on treason charges and locked away for eternity if we can’t prove Liam’s innocence. I hope we can run away together and leave this behind.

Liam slumps to the side with his head against the window and falls asleep. I rub his arm and smile. He and I can sleep whenever our bodies demand it from us. His snoring echoes in the dark car. The only light comes from the screen on the dashboard.

I touch Cam on the shoulder. “Can you pull over so I can get in the front seat?”

“No. I have to keep going until we get to the first checkpoint.” His fingers grip the steering wheel.

“It looks like we’re in the clear, and Liam and I can get busy working on the program. Did he tell you anything that will help us find the mole?”

“Is that what you think? We’re in the clear.” He blows out a breath and doesn’t let me answer. “No, and we need to talk about the meaning of your father’s message.”

I nod, still processing what my dad was trying to tell me. His cryptic message didn’t surprise me. My mom and I have been on the outs for years because I don’t trust her with anything. My brother doesn’t know the details but he’s about to know everything.

“Where are we headed?”

“Up north. Declan has a thing for cabins and found us one in the backwoods of Pennsylvania. We have to switch cars first.”

He turns off the highway at an exit ramp and onto a dirt road. The trees provide a tunnel as we drive for a bit and stop by the side of the road.

“We need to go on foot from here to the barn. Our ride is waiting for us.” He gets out of our luxury ride as I rouse Liam and get him out of the Tesla. His humor is gone and he’s in business mode.

Cam uses a flashlight to light our way in total darkness. The canopy of the trees is so thick no light from the moon can snake through. We keep Liam in between us in case he falls. Up ahead is an old, beige Jeep.

“How old is this Jeep?” I ask as I hoist myself up in the passenger seat.

“It’s a 1998 Jeep Wrangler. Cars manufactured before 2001 don’t have a GPS tracking system.
